Description
This meeting will first include a lecture explaining the history and organisation of Suikerunie and its products. This will be followed by a guided tour during which the characteristic activities of the sugar beet campaign will be made visible. The tour will be done on foot and last about an hour and a half. This requires visitors to be agile and wear good footwear. Also, the minimum age is 16.
The event will end in the steam museum where equipment from the colourful past of the Suikerunie will be on display. Various steam engines will be exhibited here, including several reciprocating steam engines and a very special Ljungström STAL radial steam turbine.
