The Vlisco Group is a design house that designs and produces colourful fashion fabrics for consumers in West and Central Africa and African consumers in global cities such as New York, London and Paris. Since its foundation in Helmond in 1846, fashion fabrics have been an essential part of African culture, with global prominence in the art, design and fashion industries. The group has four brands: Vlisco, Woodin, Uniwax and GTP. These brands represent Vlisco Group's core values of Inspire, Engage, Empower and Respect. Vlisco Group headquarters are located in Helmond, while the Brand & Marketing and Sales departments are in Amstelveen. The Vlisco Group has sales offices in several African countries and employs around 2,700 people.

Vlisco has a special production process. The first colour is applied using a batik process. Then different colours and designs are printed together. This requires very high accuracy of straightening and cloth web control. In this, Vlisco is unique in the world. Many of the production tools are designed 'custom-made'. The unique production site in Helmond has a long history and also experiences all kinds of challenges in modern production requirements. The sites in Ghana and Ivory Coast have similar production processes and modern machinery
