Description

Mechanics symposium Advanced Thermal Protection Systems (TPS) for Hypersonic Vehicles with guided tour at Dutch Space.

Dutch Space is the largest space company in the Netherlands and has participated intensively in large-scale, international space projects for the past 30 years.

The company emerged from the Fokker Group, has been independent since 1995 and has 220 employees. Dutch Space designs, develops and tests subsystems for satellites and launch vehicles, and supports industry and science in areas such as microgravity research. Dutch Space is the leading independent supplier of solar arrays in Europe. For satellites, Dutch Space also supplies important subsystems for e.g. attitude control, simulation, supporting components, thermal management and observation from space. The latter then concerns scientific instruments for, among other things, atmospheric research.

The space company has modern clean room facilities, where the solar arrays and other satellite (sub)systems are tested and finished. Dutch Space is closely involved in the development of components for the European launcher Ariane 5 and, more recently, VEGA.

Regarding future, reusable launchers, Dutch Space participates in the development of (hot metal) control surfaces and thermal protection systems.
