Description

Subzero, High Potential: Exploring the Oceans and the Arctic.

Due to the ever increasing demand of natural resources and fossil fuels, it is of great importance to continue searching for new possibilities. The extraction of resources will therefore inevitably shift to more extreme and unknown environments. The new areas with high potential are deeper in the oceans and closer to the Arctic. This provides great challenges, concerning many topics. The industry is faced with both technological and scientific challenges in these high risk environments. How do companies operate at extremely low temperatures and high pressures? Equally important is the discussion concerning international law in these areas and the impact on both man and environment.

The symposium will take place in Theater de Veste in the city centre of Delft and start at nine o'clock. In the weeks preceding the symposium the whole program will be put online.
