Growing with Geothermal
Description
On 15 November 2010, the second 'DAP' geothermal symposium will take place with the theme 'Growing with Geothermal'. The objective of the Delft Geothermal Project (DAP) is to promote and support scientific research, knowledge dissemination, technical development and the economically profitable application of geothermal energy. 'DAP' is an initiative of students and staff of the Geotechnology Department of TU Delft's Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences (CiTG).
The 'DAP' geothermal symposium is the largest of its kind in the Netherlands and aims to bring together industry, government, scientific education and students, both 'underground' and 'above ground'. The aim is to exchange and expand knowledge and innovation in the field of the feasibility and implementation of geothermal energy as a 'new' sustainable energy source in the Netherlands.
The symposium will provide an overview of developments in science, technology, government policy and a number of realised projects since the previous 'DAP' symposium in 2008. It will also look ahead to the promising growth opportunities of geothermal energy in the Netherlands in the next 5-10 years.
