Women in Science
On 14 February, the fifth edition of Women in Science took place, this time organised by KIVI Students Twente in cooperation with Netwerk Vrouwelijke Ingenieurs.
Three successful ladies gave their views on achieving successes and career plans and told about the choices they made. There was also a workshop by Wing Yan Man, coach and UT alumnus Civil Engineering & Management, with practical exercises focusing on intrinsic motivation and how to deal with feedback. Afterwards, while enjoying a delicious Italian buffet, there was an opportunity to exchange views with the speakers and other participants. To conclude, there were drinks in the Grand Café.
Thanks again to the sponsors ASML, The Chain Company, Powered by Twente and Techniekpact Twente.
Description
How do other women engineers shape their careers and realise their plans? Do you want to hear inspiring stories about what it's like to go to work soon after you finish your studies? Would you like to spar with other ladies about what it is like to work in the engineering world? Then don't miss Women in Science!
During the event, three successful ladies will give their views on realising successes and career plans in this traditionally male world. Stimulating and contemporary, tailored exactly to you as a top technical woman. There will also be a workshop with practical exercises, focusing on intrinsic motivation and how to deal with feedback. The workshop will be given by Wing Yan Man, Coach and UT alumnus in Civil Engineering & Management. After a career in corporate consulting and academic relations, she decided to start for herself as a coach. With her own experience in burn out, she wants to make other Millennials aware of its signs and dangers. To this end, she runs workshops to give young professionals more focus and confidence in their lives. More information can be found on her website: www.wingm.co.
