Welcome: Liesbeth Poortman
After studying Applied Physics at TU Delft, Liesbeth started her career at Siemens, where she has since fulfilled various roles in a variety of market areas. Now, as Head of Project Management within the Electrification & Automation Business Unit, she is working on the energy transition in the Netherlands.
Besides her work, Liesbeth is an enthusiastic traveller and sports enthusiast - you can regularly find her on the hockey pitch. But her involvement goes beyond technology and sports: she actively promotes more female representation in the technical sector. For instance, she taught engineering classes at her daughters' primary school for many years. Unfortunately, many women also leave the technical sector early.
As a board member of KIVI's Network of Women Engineers, she wants to work to retain, connect and help women grow within engineering.
