On 31 October next, KIVI-NT in collaboration with the NNS is organising a symposium on "Getting started with final disposal of radioactive waste" in The Hague. "

If you are serious about nuclear energy then, you also have to get serious about radioactive waste," former state secretary Jansen said last year. "It means that you don't take decisions on how to deal with the final disposal of that waste only 75 years from now, but start thinking about it now."

And that is what we are doing at this symposium with speakers from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (MinIenW) and the Central Organisation For Radioactive Waste (COVRA). How will we decide on final disposal? How does final disposal work? How do we deal with waste from new power plants? And of course: how safe is it?

14:00 - 14:40 The roadmap to final disposal - Patrick Rijsdijk & Hedwig Sleiderink, MinIenW
