Description

Lecture evening on the topic: Deep Water surface / subsea technology - Moving forward to new frontiers with technological innovation.

Shell is a world leader in Deep Water developments for Oil & Gas and has set many records in the past 20 years. In this period Shell has not only pioneered state of the art surface solutions such as TLP, Spar or FPSOs, but also many associated key enabling technological solutions for (ultra) deep water such as surface BOPs, deepwater mooring systems, integrated hull storage solutions, Steel Catenary Risers (SCRs) and Top-Tensioned Riser (TTR) deployment, subsea repair, Artificial lift, Subsea separation and pumping and Pipe in pipe technology. These technologies are driven by evermore remote, deep and harsh offshore environments and the need to have robust and fit for purpose solutions. Today the boundaries of deep water keep shifting and raise the need for continuous deep water technology innovation. This presentation will discuss expectations of tomorrow's deep water challenges for surface and subsea development. It addresses deepwater system characteristics and system drivers and focuses on latest technological innovations such as Direct Vertical Access Systems for ultra-deepwater, subsea separation, subsea compression, electrical heated pipelines, sour service developments, high strength steel and composite material applications, smart well applications. It also addresses aspects of cost reduction and flawless delivery
