Record Breaking Gas Transmission Lines
Description
Lecture "Record Breaking Gas Transmission Lines in Europe - Longer, Larger and Deeper".
The Mediterranean and Black Sea region hosts some of the world's largest gas interconnectors, with pipelines in the 24-in diameter range traversing water depths of more than 2100 m (Medgaz, Blue Stream, Galsi) and pipelines in the 32-in range traversing water depths of 1400 m (Green Stream, IGI) and planned to exceed 2200 m (South Stream). To effect a diameter size of 32-in in these water depths involves a step-out in technology application, but is within reach.
Building on INTECSEA's extensive experience with deepwater large diameter pipelines (i.e. Oman-India, Blue Stream, Medgaz, Mardi Gras) INTECSEA Delft is currently working on the FEED designs for IGI Poseidon and South Stream projects. This presentation provides an overview of the key design issues to be addressed and the major technological developments that can be applied for such deepwater large diameter pipelines in order to take the industry to the next level
