Description

Cybersecurity: Do we have our resilience in order?

In March 2017, the Rathenau Institute published the report 'A never-runaway race - On cyber threats and strengthening resilience'.

The report makes it clear that the Netherlands, as one of the most ICT-intensive economies in the world, is an attractive target for cyber criminals, cyber spies and other malicious hackers. Foreign intelligence agencies are collecting political, military and technological information on a large scale. Cybercriminals are becoming more professional, their methods more sophisticated and their revenue model more profitable. But even less sophisticated 'script kiddies' can cause considerable damage with a hack.

Geert Munnichs, coordinator at the Rathenau Institute and one of the authors of the report, will address the question of whether citizens, the government and the business sector have their resilience against cyber threats in order and what measures are needed to strengthen this resilience
