Description

Based on the reactions to our kick-off meeting/symposium of 9 October 2013 and the subsequent activities of the three working groups, the board has decided to organise two RBT symposia per year for the time being.

In doing so, the starting points were:
- To effect the programme at a host company or organisation where there is a clear connection with RBT's objectives and which can also be shown.
- To combine the symposium with simultaneous but separate meetings of the three working groups.
- To involve the host company or institution in the programme.
- To build in space for a short housekeeping session and progress report from the working groups.
- To start the actual symposium in the afternoon and run through to the evening.
- To provide ample space for discussion and networking.
- Planning two RBT symposia per year (spring and autumn)

Deltares will act as host for this spring symposium.

Deltares is an independent applied knowledge institute in the field of water, subsoil and infrastructure. Around the world, Deltares works on smart innovations, solutions and applications for people, the environment and society.
Managing densely populated and vulnerable delta areas is complex and requires an understanding of the risks involved, such as safety from flooding and safety in the construction sector.
Some of the topics that will be covered in the introduction to Deltares are Flood Control, Building with Nature and Climate adaptation.
