Description

Risk-driven working for engineers

The Practice & Implementation (P&I) working group of the still young Risk Management and Engineering Department (RBT) offers engineers inspiration and practical tips for dealing smartly with risks in their organisations. This is to use risk management to deliver demonstrable added value in times of uncertainty as well as opportunities.

By Martin van Staveren, RBT board member, the book 'Risk-based working in practice' was recently published (Vakmedianet, 2015). It is written for managers and subject matter professionals, including engineers, who want to achieve their goals despite risks and underlying uncertainties. The book presents an updated form of risk management, in which the role of people in the organisation is central and tools are supportive. The practical book contains many examples from all kinds of sectors and tips that can be applied immediately.

This workshop Risk-Based Working is organised especially for engineers. Much, little or no experience with risk management? Doesn't matter, we are going to learn from each other. After an introduction to risk management in relation to risk-driven working, you will get to work yourself. At the end of the workshop, you will know the ins & outs of risk-based working. In addition to 10 practical tips, you will receive a copy of the book to take home.
