ELLEN BROUWERS designing art and Saint-Gobain's glass factory in Sas van Gent design and make glass products that are functional and fine art at the same time.
ELLEN BROUWERS designing art is a design studio for furnishing both indoor and outdoor spaces, focusing on the integration of fine art and architecture. Clients include companies, municipalities, architectural firms, housing cooperatives and private individuals.
On Wednesday 6 April 2011, members of the Environmental Technology/Food & Green department are happy to be received at the design studio in Oisterwijk. The meeting will last from 2 pm - 5 pm. Your partner is also cordially invited to this meeting.
The following topics will be discussed:
- Properties, possibilities and applications of glass
- The added value, advantages and disadvantages of functional artistic glass products
- The production process of glass and a short description of the history and expected developments of the production process of glass and glass products
- The development of the environmental burden, safety issues and working conditions in the past, present and near future of glass production
- The sustainability profile of glass
- Admiring products supported by expert explanations.
