Ørsted Windpower Netherlands Vlissingen
The presentations can be found under 'Documents'
Organised by Department of Sustainable Technology KIVI (DT) and Ørsted
The use of fossil fuels creates emissions ofCO2, causing global warming and changing our climate. To counteract this, the Netherlands is gradually switching to clean energy from wind, solar and geothermal sources. This transition includes the construction and operation of wind farms in the North Sea.
In the Borssele wind energy area off the coast of Walcheren, Ørsted has built 2 wind farms with a total installed capacity of 752 MW. These farms have been operational for several years now. Ørsted is willing to provide insight into the operation and maintenance of these wind farms, as well as addressing system integration and promoting biodiversity in the farms.
HZ University of Applied Sciences is willing to talk a little about the teaching and research programme they have developed for Wind at Sea.
About Ørsted
Ørsted is the market leader in offshore wind farms. We take concrete action and provide renewable energy solutions to realise our vision - to create a world that runs entirely on green energy.
In addition to offshore wind, they are also developing green hydrogen. Green hydrogen is needed to reduce theCO2 emissions of Dutch industry. With green hydrogen, various industrial processes can run on green energy. The next decade will be crucial: green hydrogen must be scaled up and costs reduced.
