5G seminar 'Living environment' - 10 June 2021
On Thursday 10 June 2021, a deeper look was taken at the living environment and how 5G can play a role in it. This 5G seminar featured three speakers. Based on their stories, these took a look at the opportunities of digitalisation and technology for the living environment and look at the lessons learned from two 5G pilots.
You can look back at the full 5G seminar on the 5Groningen website
Programme 10 June was:
Jan-Willem Wesselink - Future City
Jan-Willem Wesselink is keynote speaker of the seminar. He will discuss the opportunities of digitalisation and technology for the living environment.
Mark de Wit - Biomark Biotechnology
Mark de Wit will talk about the lessons learned from his 5G pilot 4D Data Services during the seminar.
Hans Hainje - MUG Ingenieursbureau
Hans Hainje will talk about the lessons learned from his 5G pilot 5G (LoRa and LTEM) and the gauge sensor.
About the speakers
Jan-Willem Wesselink is programme manager of the Future City Foundation and the City Deal 'A smart city, that's how you do it'. Both Future City and the City Deal aim to use the opportunities offered by digitisation and technology in such a way that our regions, cities and villages become even more liveable and democratic.
Mark de Wit is owner of Biomark Biotechnolgy. Together with Wout van Wezel, he started a 5G pilot to explore what is technically possible on and in water. 4D Data Services does water and air quality measurements. With 5G, it is possible to make smaller and energy-efficient sensors. Mark discusses lessons learned.
Hans Hainje MSc. 56 years old, water sportsman and head of department Geo MUG Ingenieursbureau, interested in GIS, BIM, Collection, Geo-data, innovation and business development.
Sensors give many new possibilities, with 5G it becomes possible to deploy smart and energy-efficient sensors that can be read out in real time. Traditionally, we measure a lot on site and after the fact. In our pilot, we have gained experience with groundwater measurements whose incoming data are combined with an environmental portal. Hans discusses the lessons learned but also the by-catch.
