Description
17.30 h Reception, with sandwiches if desired
17:55 Opening of the evening
18:00 Frank van Vliet (TNO / UT) - From sensor suite to gate finger. Modern RF sensors rely heavily on advanced analogue ICs for their functionality. In the presentation, based on beamforming, the chain from sensor suite to gate finger will be highlighted.
18.30 Adriaan Smits (Thales NL) - Modern Radar systems no longer resemble the parabolic antenna made of 'chicken wire' that steadily turns its rounds. Technology in the fields of antennas, algorithms and processing hardware offers increasing opportunities to improve performance, increase flexibility of use and make operation and maintenance simpler and cheaper. This presentation will give an overview of recent and future developments.
19:00 Coffee break
19.15:00 Wim Pelt (Ministry of Defence) - Electronics has gone from spin-off to spin-in technology over the last 50 years. However, military systems can make features attractive that are not needed in other markets. This will be explained through recent projects, culminating in a look at upcoming developments in the Netherlands and Europe.
19.45 Klaus Werner (NXP Semiconductors) - NXP is refocusing itself to its original core competences: analog mixed signal and RF technologies. This presentation shows the background to this trend with a focus on products, recent trends in applications and "best-in-class" technologies.
