Developments in frequency spectrum
Description
The use of mobile applications continues to increase significantly. This both for short-distance and long-distance applications. This means that the need for bandwidth for wireless is exploding. This in turn has the consequence that demand for the use of frequency spectrum is also increasing significantly. This increasing demand requires the government to adapt both policy and implementation around the use of spectrum. An example of this is that the government, both in Europe and in the Netherlands, has taken steps to spend spectrum in a technology- and service-neutral way as much as possible.
In the lectures, Drs Klaas Bouma, policy officer at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, will first discuss developments on the use of radio frequencies from a policy perspective. Afterwards, Ir Taco Kluwer, Senior Technical Specialist of the Radiocommunications Agency will discuss the consequences this new policy will have on the Agency's executive task.
After the introductions, there will be ample time for discussion. Afterwards, you are invited for a drink to continue networking.
