ICT and economic growth

The Telecommunications Department of KIVI invites you to the theme evening "ICT and economic growth".
The topic has recently come up many times such as in the discussion on robotisation and employment. We will first deal with the subject from a generic economic point of view, then specifically from the telecommunications and ICT point of view and then towards government policy and ICT.

18.35 "Impact of ICT on economic growth" by Reg Brennenraedts (Partner at Dialogic innovation & interaction).
Reg has conducted several studies in recent years mapping the impact of ICT on the economy. In this context, he discusses not only the quantitative aspects, but also the underlying drivers of this
19.10 am "The current status of the Dutch ICT sector" by Robbin te Velde (Principal researcher at Dialogic innovation & interaction).
In this lecture, Robbin will discuss Dutch Telecom sector in a very recent study he conducted for the Netherlands ICT, see link below. In addition, Robbin will draw some parallels between Dutch telecoms sector and other parts of the Dutch ICT sector.
7.45 pm "ICT and public policy" by Paul de Bijl (independent consultant, Radicand Economics, and visiting professor of Regulatory Economics at WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management, Germany).
This contribution addresses the question: what is good ICT policy, in the light of the impact of ICT on the economy and society? Paul's view, underpinned by economic science, is that effective ICT policy requires, above all, explicit attention to 'non-ICT' policy.
