Integrated Photonics
Description
Every year, the Scientific Radio Fund Foundation Veder presents the so-called Veder Prize to individuals who have made pioneering contributions in the field of radio and telecommunications science. During the meeting, the 2011 Veder Prize will be awarded to dr.ir. Milan Marell.
In honour of this presentation, the NERG, in cooperation with the Telecommunications Department of KIVI NIRIA, is organising a thematic meeting with the theme Integrated Photonics. During the afternoon, dr.ir. Milan Marell (Philips Research, formerly TU Eindhoven) will explain his work in this area, based on his PhD work entitled "Gap plasmon mode distributed feedback lasers". Furthermore, the afternoon will focus on industrial applications of photonic integration. Finally, Dr Jos van der Tol (TU Eindhoven) will discuss the future of photonic integration and current academic research in this field.
After this meeting, you are welcome to join us for informal drinks, where a sandwich meal will be served.
