Description

KIVI NIRIA Department TC, FITCE-NL and NERG are organising an interesting evening following the FITCE Congress 2010. FITCE is a European organisation for telecommunication engineers, and the Dutch FITCE organisation is part of KIVI NIRIA Department of Telecommunications. Three Dutch-speaking speakers will come to present their FITCE 2010 contribution this evening.

New media have already given rise to major new players, such as Google (Youtube), Facebook and Twitter, which provide their services on the back of existing telecom providers. These telecom providers are looking for ways to offset eroding revenues as a result of these new over-the-top players, to remain relevant to end-users and to avoid being reduced to 'bit pipe' suppliers.

The speakers' FITCE contributions focused on the underlying changing circumstances that are forcing incumbent telecom providers to rethink their existing business models
