Description

In November 2011, an interesting and informative excursion took place to the railways' emergency control centre (OCCR) in Utrecht. This excursion was very quickly fully booked. Hence, we decided to repeat it. Once again, the number of available places is limited.

In response to several major disruptions on the railways, particularly around Utrecht, Prorail, some transport operators including NS and managers set up the OCCR association to increase quality on the railways.
This excursion takes us to the control centre.
We are given an introduction about the OCCR, during which we have a view of the control centre.
In addition, a technical presentation is given about the control centre's network and how it is linked to information facilities from various sources related to the railways. We will also visit the technical areas of the OCCR.
