Shortwave transmitter park Flevopolder (VOL)
Description
Due to the rise of the Internet, radio broadcasts for the world broadcaster are no longer provided from Flevopolder. For the benefit of those not connected to the Internet or travelling listeners, the short-wave
broadcasts have been moved to foreign short-wave transmitters. Nothing is yet known about the
further destination of the shortwave transmitter park.
Interested NERG members have the opportunity to visit the technical part of the transmitter park, which is still in a state of rest, on Friday 4 July
- for a limited number of 15 to 20 people, however.
During the visit an expert technical explanation will be given.
Start around 11.00 a.m.
A simple coffee/tea will be served before and after the tour; people should bring their
lunch, if desired, but prefabricated.
Questions may be asked during and after the tour.
Departure around 2.30 p.m.
(there may be a fallback date of 11 July)
