Increasing digitalisation is changing societal tasks
Inspector-General Angeline van Dijk: "There is increasing digitisation. This is a prerequisite for sustainable economic development and moves our country forward. At the same time, it brings new vulnerabilities and risks. Social interests may come under pressure as a result. This has changed the social task of the Radiocommunications Agency over the years."

Invest and intensify supervision
The new National Digital Infrastructure Inspectorate will retain the tasks of the current agency. In addition, the RDI will invest more explicitly in the digital security of the Netherlands. For example, by intensifying supervision of networks and the digital security of smart devices.
New name covers cargo
Supervisory tasks have already increased significantly in recent years. This growth is expected to continue in the coming years. The name 'State Inspectorate' fits well with this development. In connection with the broadening of the work field, the name 'Telecom' no longer covers the load. 'Digital infrastructure' does.
