Schiphol Airport
Description
"The Schiphol Group develops airports based on the idea that an airport is a flawless stopover in the travel process where the visitor is offered a unique experience. They call this the AirportCity formula. An AirportCity is a dynamic environment where people and businesses, logistics and shopping, information and entertainment come together and reinforce each other. It is an efficient multimodal transport hub of air, rail and road connections. A location that offers its visitors and the (international) companies located there all the services they need 24/7" (source: strategy, schiphol group)
Schiphol has the ambition to be one of the world's leading airport companies. As a result, Schiphol is always working on innovative developments in areas such as baggage handling and terminal expansion to cope with growth. This visit offers the opportunity to hear the latest applications from insiders and get a look behind the scenes. The expansion 'Schiphol South' will be presented, where baggage robots will be applied, among other things. Tracking baggage, and reading labels, can be done more reliably with RFID, rather than optically scanning a barcode. The application and tests will be explained. A third topic will be about Self service check in or Baggage Security checks
