Description

RAIL GOODS TRANSPORT VLISSINGEN - VENLO : GO - NO GO !

On 12 November, KIVI NIRIA, in collaboration with the NHTV, is organising an afternoon symposium on the future of rail freight transport in the southern Netherlands. With the developments on the Iron Rhine and the Betuweroute, the subject is becoming increasingly fascinating. Which parties have a stake in rail freight transport in the southern Netherlands? What future role should the Vlissingen-Venlo rail link have? This discussion will be shaped by new policy developments and the recent accident in Barendrecht.

Led by chairman of the day Jan Willem Proper (lecturer in Transport & Logistics), the topic will be approached from a political/social point of view and from the market. During this afternoon, representatives of ACTS, Brabantse Milieufederatie, Mainport Venlo, Ministry of V&W, NS, ProRail, Rewin NV, Vopak and Zeeland Seaports, among others, will give their views on rail freight transport of the future. Will it be a go or a no go?
