From a Tangent Design to an Integral Design (postponed due to coronavirus)
The Tunnel Engineering and Underground Works Department (TTOW) deals with immersed tunnels, bored tunnels, cut-and-cover tunnels, tunnel exits and ramps, sunken roads and railways, tunnel installations, lighting, ventilation and so on, underground construction, underground spaces and basement structures, among others.
The TTOW cordially invites you to a workshop on 23 April titled:
'From a Tangent Design to an Integral Design'
Although there are many books and standards that help facilitate tunnel design, in current practice, the challenge of achieving an integral tunnel design is still great.
KIVI Tunnel Engineering and Underground Works (TTOW) is pleased to invite you to a workshop on Thursday 23 April at VolkerWessels' Futurelab in Vianen where the aspects of good integral tunnel design will be presented.
During this workshop, (tunnel) design specialists i.r.t. designing tunnel projects will tell how, within their organisations and projects, they deal with the dilemmas and challenges they experience in the transition from 'interface design' to 'integral design'. The dilemmas and challenges involved will be discussed in small groups, through workshops. At the end, we will share the lessons learned to make a good integral design.
If you have experience with - or interest in - integral design projects of tunnels and have a civil engineering background and/or affinity with tunnel installations, then this workshop is for you!
If you are a KIVI member and/or COB participant, you can register for €150 excl. VAT.
Please note, there is room for about 60 participants**.
Other interested parties pay € 250 excl*. VAT.
* Join KIVI/TTOW directly and you pay €150.
** 6 places are available for young members under 35.
