AGM + Open lectures / ITA discussion evening
Description
First, the Annual General Meeting of Members will take place. This will be followed by a simple sandwich meal, followed by a number of interesting substantive lectures followed by opportunities for discussion. Another important item on the agenda is the establishment of Dutch platforms for both drilling and sinking tunnels.
The following items will be dealt with successively:
* Establishment of platforms for drilling and sinking tunnels within TTOW; The objective is to share, evaluate and disseminate knowledge within the TTOW-COB and ITA triangle. Introduced by Jan Jonker and Hans de Wit.
* The technical challenges and solutions of the construction and immersion of the for some time completed New Tyne Crossing in Newcastle, a project about which there has been only limited publicity by Gina de Rooij.
* Communicating about risks in underground construction: Following the Geoimpuls project that looked within practical projects (Spoorzone Delft, A2 Maastricht, and the VAB in The Hague) at how to shape communication about underground risks in a clear, timely and sensitive way. With the expert central, with real knowledge about the environment's risk perception and with practical tools. By Karin de Haas.
* Sinking a tunnel under Amsterdam CS a unique challenge; the very limited space under the building and major restrictions made the design and execution of this project an extremely complicated assignment. For each phase, the technical aspects and solutions of the operation will be discussed. By Peter Westendorp.
* A4 Old Rhine aqueduct: repeat exercise. The new western section of the Oude Rijn aqueduct in the A4 motorway has been in use for some time. Work is currently underway on the eastern extension after the demolition of the old bridges. By Willem Gall.
