E-mobility and grid congestion
The power grid is bursting at the seams at peak times. In fact, municipalities and grid operators are already calling on the government to stop favourable schemes and subsidies for solar panels. Grid congestion is increasingly lurking and carries risks: breakdowns, power shortages and the inability to realise new connections.
To keep the electricity grid in balance, bi-directional charging can offer a solution at local level.
Zero Emission | Ecomobiel is therefore organising a Mobility Meet-Up on Thursday 10 February from 15:00 to 16:00 on the subject of 'E-mobility and grid congestion'. Led by mobility enthusiast Rogier Elshout, four experts will discuss the possibilities that Vehicle to Grid (V2G) can offer to smoothen or absorb temporary peaks in our power grid.
Permanenttable host at the Mobility Meet-Ups of 54events, organiser of the Zero Emission | Ecomobiel trade fair, among others, is mobility man Rogier Elshout. Viewers can chime in live with questions and suggestions!
Questions to be discussed include: What pilot projects with bi-directional charging of electric vehicles already exist and are they promising? What bottlenecks are there and can they be solved? Does V2G indeed contribute to a better distribution of energy demand and on what scale can it be deployed? In this newsletter, three participants of the Mobility Meet-Up give a preview of the discussion.
