Theme: "green corridors" a method to quickly introduce new technologies in road transport.
Introducing innovation in road transport often requires adapting infrastructure, vehicles or legislation. This often requires large investments and long lead times and this frustrates innovations. By adapting a small but intensively used part of the infrastructure now (including legislation), new technologies can be introduced more quickly. Things that can be considered are communication between vehicles and with the roadside, longer aerodynamic vehicles alternative fuels, etc. Optimal use of different modalities also fits within such a concept. This leads to an accelerated further reduction of environmental impact hence the name green corridors. The lectures will discuss a possible interpretation from the point of view of TU/e, TNO and DAF.
