Description

Excursion at TÜV Rheinland TNO Automotive International Safety Lab.

With afterwards the Spyker Lecture and Spyker Prize Ceremony 2008, also at TNO,from 18.00 hrs (register separately via the link to the announcement below)

TÜV Rheinland TNO Automotive, TTAI, is since the beginning of this year the company name for the cooperation of TNO Automotive and the TÜV Rheinland in the field of passive safety tests. The famous Delft-based TNO crash lab has been completely newly built in Helmond next to PDE Automotive since last year.
TTAI was created after TÜV Rheinland, instead of rebuilding their existing facilities in Cologne Germany, decided to partner with TNO Automotive Safety Lab. This led to the new joint venture TTAI.
The lab consists of a crash hall where complete vehicle crashes are performed while many high-speed cameras record everything in detail. Another highlight is the inverse simulator that can simulate the impact (deceleration) on impact by being shot at with accelerations of over 100 g.
And of course the many dummies developed by TNO that increasingly resemble the human body.

TTAI carries out safety tests for many manufacturers and suppliers inside and outside the automotive sector, from EURO-NCAP vehicle tests to sled tests on lifeboats, for example.

During the excursion, you will get to know TTAI through 2 presentations and you will also get a tour of the test centre. We will also have a short visit to the homologation lab, where tests are carried out on belts, helmets, locks etc.

There will be 2 lectures:
- TTAI, two strong players unite forces, Erik Scheurkogel, Sales Manager TTAI.
- EuroNCAP, backgrounds and new rating 2009, Ir. Richard Schram, Development engineer
