Description

With 7900 employees, the Volkswagen plant is the largest employer in Emden. Originally, the famous Beetles were made in Emden. Nowadays
the VW Passat and Passat Variant models roll off the production line. Since May 2005, the Passat B6 limousine has been produced, and from 2008 the Passat CC.
An important feature is that the factory has its own port. From this port, 900,000 Volkswagens are shipped worldwide every year. Other models such as the Sharan from Portugal and the Beetle from Mexico are imported.
