Photographer Ruben Terlou made an extraordinary documentary about China for VPRO: Along the banks of the Yangtze. He follows the river upstream; from metropolis Shanghai to the interior of Shangri-La.
Using fragments from his series, he talks about the impact of economic progress, Chinese people's dreams and everyday life.
Dr Ruben Terlou is a photographer, documentary filmmaker and doctor. Terlou lived in China and speaks fluent Mandarin.
Drs. Hiska Bakker and Ir. Peter Timmerman of Studium Generale will interview him.
This lecture is a nice apetiser for Young KIVI Engineers' Hong Kong study tour project and serves as an alternative to the postponed Cultural Night (study tour preparatory activity).
