Dear Directors,

As Young KIVI Engineers (YKE), we want to represent the interests of young engineers within the association.

Until now, YKE has mainly been active in organising local activities. The locations of these activities mainly depended on where the YKE directors lived/worked. YKE is currently growing rapidly, and we believe that YKE can play an important role in the association. We want to focus less on organising local activities and more on representing young members within the association.

If we currently look at the association-wide membership, we see that only 12.5% of members are younger than 36 years old. Furthermore, we see that KIVI attracts students, who then cancel their membership only to join again 20 or 30 years later.

By using KIVI's already existing infrastructure (departments, major annual activities and the bureau), we think we can create added value for young engineers in the Netherlands. So we want to start providing input to other departmental boards, the bureau and the main board on issues being dealt with concerning young engineers.

To achieve the above, we need your help!

To have a strong voice within KIVI, we need support for our plans. Therefore, we invite you to join us on Friday 19 October at the KIVI building in The Hague to discuss what we - as young directors - can do for sustainable KIVI.

The programme of this meeting is as follows:

18:00 - 18:45 Walk-in with food
18:45 - 19:00 Presentation Young KIVI Engineers
19:00 - 20:00 Discussion, drinks and conclusion

Would you please let us know before 15 October if you will attend?
We hope for a great turnout!
