Webinar:
An inside look at Big-Data and how you could use data-science in your work too
Date: Friday 4 September 2020
Time: 16:00 to 17:30
Location: Webinar
On Friday afternoon 4 September 2020, the joint regions North and Central Limburg and Limburg South will organise a webinar on the topic of data-science.
The webinar will be hosted (in English) by Sharona Boonman, daughter of Laurens Boonman, former board member of region North and Central Limburg. Below, she gives a brief introduction about herself
The webinar is aimed at all members who have heard of big data and want to learn more about it in order to assess what it could contribute to improving his/her working environment.
Sharona Boonman (24 years old) works as a data science consultant, and holds a bachelor degree in economics, a master degree in data science, and is currently finalising her Erasmus Mundus joint master's degree in digital communication leadership (DCLead). In her work she mainly uses data to optimise processes, e.g. she worked with anonymised data from a child helpline aiming to provide neglected children the help they deserve.
During this webinar, Sharona will introduce you to famous concepts in the field of data science, such as supervised and unsupervised learning. Topics such as standardizing your daily operations, and moving towards a data-driven organisation are discussed. Lastly, controversial statements (e.g. ethical machine learning) will be discussed at the end of the webinar. This webinar is intended for both persons without any knowledge as well as those knowledgeable on the field of data science. The main goal of this webinar is to show the potentials that data science has to offer. This can then inspire you to make your personal or professional life more data driven. Or it can help you to participate in conversations about topics such as artificial intelligence.
