Ecosystems or fieldlabs what works in North Limburg?
Business, innovative, entrepreneurial or knowledge ecosystems; just the future or already outdated by fieldlabs?
Grenszlab is a fieldlab where students, businesses, education and overhead come together to work on tomorrow's solutions. As part of the "healthiest region" movement, we are busy attracting and retaining talent in beautiful North Limburg!
Limburg's nature alone is home to many types of ecosystems, in which a diversity of plants, animals, organisms and abiotic factors interact and form a system together. Examples include dune areas, deciduous forests and the tidal flats. Inspired by nature, humans are also increasingly using human ecosystems. Indeed, we live in a world where it is increasingly difficult for organisations to innovate ''alone''. Complex problems such as climate change, ageing and covid-19, for example, require cooperation across organisational boundaries. To join forces for innovation, organisations are increasingly working together. This cooperation across organisational boundaries is also known as open innovation.
Open innovation means that internal knowledge is combined with external knowledge. One form of open innovation is the ecosystem; a complex collaboration between a variety of organisations working together to achieve a specific goal. There are several types of ecosystems, all of which can play a different role in solving complex problems. In this webinar, we will introduce the ecosystem concept and discuss different types of ecosystems and their implications. We will also discuss how to map the health of these collaborations.
