Euroregional Engineering Relay and Quiz
Description
In the morning, about 200 secondary school students aged 14-15 will carry out all kinds of technical assignments in the Continium via a technology relay, such as building a bridge or tower, assembling a propeller with a solar cell, or carrying out exploration assignments. In short, temptation enough to make technology sexy among this target group.
About 200 secondary school students aged 14-15 from the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion will make contact with each other during the 2nd Euroregional Technology Quiz and Relay. They will compete together for the Stimulus Prize 2011. This will be awarded for the 10th time. The technique quiz is organised by the Stichting Drielanden Ingenieurs Kontakt (DIK) in cooperation with the Royal Institute of Engineers KIVI NIRIA Maastricht region and the Stimu-Learning Foundation.
With the help of this technique quiz, young people can get acquainted with engineering in a challenging way. The warm-up for this quiz will take place in the morning using a technique relay where various practical tasks will be performed such as assembling a propeller with solar cell and building a bridge. In a figurative sense, a bridge will also be built towards further Euroregional cooperation. The main aim is for one friendship to emerge. Namely friendship for technology which knows no boundaries. Because engineering is everywhere and is hot, fat cool. Just look at the warm interest in and love for the iPhone, iPod or iPad. How do they actually work? What about all those windmills around us generating renewable energy? What about electric cars or the application of solar energy? Any idea how all this works?
You will have the opportunity to attend this special day. The maximum number of participants is 50 with a Euroregional registration
