VDL Nedcar, a successful independent car manufacturer in Born

VDL Nedcar is an experienced Dutch car factory, which has been building cars for more than 50 years. After starting as a DAF car plant in June 1968, they built cars for Volvo, DaimlerChrysler, Mitsubishi and now BMW. Twenty-three models - totalling more than five million cars - have now rolled off the production line in Born.

Since the end of 2012, the production facility has been part of the VDL group in Eindhoven and has transformed itself into an independent car manufacturer. The production halls and lines were renovated and converted in the years 2012- 2014. Logistics facilities were expanded and modernised. In July 2014, the factory officially reopened and production of the MINI Hatch started. This was joined by the MINI Convertible in 2015 and the MINI Countryman in 2016, of which they also produce the PHEV variant. Since 2017, the above BMW X1 has also been built in Born.

The VDL Nedcar company is excellently located next to the A2 motorway and has an inland port a short distance away and, with the B56, a connection to the German motorway network. The company employs about 6,000 people.

This interesting company also offers students good opportunities for an internship or positions, which can be filled at this company.
