Working towards a Circular Economy

Today's waste is tomorrow's raw material

No more waste and infinite reuse of raw materials. That is our common challenge for the future. The Netherlands has set itself the goal of being fully circular from 2050 and we want to contribute to this.

For 10 municipalities in South Limburg, RD4 takes care of the collection and processing of waste and raw materials for 148,000 households. RD4 manages 8 environmental parks and organises various sorting and recycling activities. Furthermore, Rd4 advises the municipalities on their waste and raw materials policy and organises street cleaning, weed control and slipperiness control

Everything for a beautiful and clean living environment

Rd4 was established in 1998 to perform the legal waste care obligation on behalf of the participating municipalities. Rd4 has achieved a lot since then, thanks of course to the efforts of municipalities, citizens and our colleagues. Rd4 is known for its reliability, quality and service and is firmly rooted in South and Central Limburg.

We make the world just a little bit nicer

Rd4 takes care of the collection and processing of waste and raw materials for the 10 municipalities of Beekdaelen, Brunssum, Eijsden-Margraten, Gulpen-Wittem, Heerlen, Kerkrade, Landgraaf, Simpelveld, Vaals and Voerendaal. We manage 8 raw material parks and take care of various sorting and recycling activities. Furthermore, Rd4 advises the municipalities on their waste and raw materials policy and Rd4 takes care of environmental communication to 145,000 households. We also take care of street cleaning, weed control and smoothness control.

Our strategy

From today, we are working on our future. Rd4 has developed a strategy for the coming years with ambitious goals. In the coming years, we will transform into a circular, environmentally aware and sustainable company. We are aiming for 80% waste separation in 2026 and giving people a suitable place to work.
