Roundtable: how do we get all the plans for green hydrogen off the ground?
It is the thousandth thing of the energy transition: green hydrogen. Billions are being freed up for green hydrogen projects. Green hydrogen should make our industry more sustainable, we will soon be driving around on it and it will heat our homes. Yet most of these projects do not yet go beyond a feasibility study. And while the Netherlands has the potential to be Europe's pioneer on this theme, we are now being overtaken left and right.
How do we get the green hydrogen market off the ground? And what role should the Netherlands play in the European hydrogen economy? During our Roundtable, Paul van Liempt and Sabine Sluijters put this to the test with a number of hydrogen experts:
- Helmie Botter, manager business development hydrogen at Gasunie;
- Nienke Homan, board member of the Green Hydrogen Organisation and chairman of the Sustainable Hydrogen Club;
- Luc Graré, responsible for international business at hydrogen producer Lhyfe
- René Slaghek, technology & programme manager at Brightsite and project manager of the Chemelot Sustainability Team.
