Sitech Services and Company Fire Brigade
Description
The biannual joint excursion of the KIVI NIRIA regions Limburg South and Maastricht.
This year, the versatile engineering organisation Sitech Services is our host. This organisation employs numerous HBO and TU engineers in a wide range of disciplines such as civil and structural engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, measurement and control engineering and specialised tasks such as Health and Safety, Occupational Safety and Pressure Equipment Inspections.
Sitech Services works for three major companies on the Chemelot site: DSM, Lanxess Elastomers and OCI Nitrogen.
The morning programme's presentations will cover the following topics:
- Development of DSM Geleen into the Chemelot site over time,
- Structure and organisation of the Chemelot site with the industrial part and the Research Campus, control model;
- Presentation of Sitech Manufacturing Services' services;
- Presentation of Sitech Park Services' services, including Company Fire Brigade;
Possibilities for deployment of technicians and training of fire officers.
A great opportunity for student members and young engineering graduates to get acquainted with the interesting career opportunities at one of the largest engineering organisations in the whole of Limburg.
For our other members, an excellent opportunity to get an insight into the metamorphosis of DSM Geleen into an open industrial estate with 7 multinationals in the chemical industry and the many forms of services offered by Sitech Services to its customers on the industrial estate and beyond.
Sitech Services also manages and maintains the integral wastewater treatment plant for the entire Geleen industrial estate. Last but not least, Sitech Services houses the professional Company Fire Brigade of the Chemelot site in Geleen.
This Company Fire Brigade is the focus of the afternoon programme's company visit.
First, we take a short tour of the Chemelot site from the Chemelot Campus to the Fire Station on the Chemelot site. Along the way, we will see a number of new buildings, developments or companies on the Chemelot Campus and the industrial part of the site: the newly opened Lanxess headquarters, the Ahead Research building under construction for DSM Engineering Plastics, the establishment of Mammoet Transporten BV on the Chemelot site, the soon-to-open Rail Terminal for Containers, the fire brigade training grounds and the Fire Station and the building for the management and maintenance of personal protective equipment such as gas suits, gas masks and cylinders with breathing air.
After the visit to the fire brigade, the bus will take us back to our pick-up point at the entrance to the Chemelot Campus.
As no alcohol may be served on the Chemelot site, the two boards will offer you a closing drink at café Salden, Platz in Limbricht.
At 18.00, we will conclude our joint excursion.
