Limburg Regions Stronger Together Innovate by joining forces
KIVI Members of the Limburg South (RLZ) and North & Central Limburg (NML) Regions
Stronger innovation together
We, the boards of these two Limburg regions, intend to merge the two regions into one "Limburg Region" with effect from 1 January 2023. In this letter, we would like to explain this merger.
Since 2 years in corona time, the two regions worked intensively together to organise and share a number of Webinars from other regions and departments. These Webinars were well attended and the distance between members was bridged digitally. In addition, there are board vacancies looming which we want to solve partly by joining forces. We also want to revamp the board structure to give young members a chance to contribute.
Our Mission for the new "Region Limburg" is mainly aimed at Engineers (Ir. & Ing.) in Limburg and neighbouring Regions and Departments. The focus is mainly on Knowledge Sharing, Career Development and Professional Orientation.
To support all this, we maintain contacts with Engineering Associations VDI-Düsseldorf, IE Flanders, and the more specific Technical Departments of KIVI at TU-Eindhoven.
Our social involvement will be used where necessary where knowledge is lacking. Think of Limburg Municipalities, the Province and local Energy Cooperatives. Our involvement in the field of Energy Transition the Circular Economy and Transport will have to take more shape.
Of course, you understand that this involvement cannot take place from the board alone. We want to involve and invite members to support us in this. We will inform you about this later.
To maintain mutual contacts, we will organise get-togethers and excursions in the various regions of South, Central and North Limburg. This also applies to contacts with the various training institutes. Besides the Excursions, we have also learned that Webinars attract a lot of people. In the future, we will aim to link the lectures and excursions via video link as well. KIVI is also doing this nationwide. KIVI's fortnightly newsletter lists all excursions and lectures and you can see if they are local only or also via video link. Kind regards and see you soon.
