Description

Salt production
Within the Salt Production Plant, the raw brine coming from the Drilling Site via pipelines is processed. The Salt Production Plant produces and processes around 2.5 million tonnes of salt, making it the largest producer of vacuum salt in the world. The salt is mainly used to produce basic chemicals in the form of 'Chemical Transformation Salt'. Only a small part of the salt is for direct consumption. A larger proportion is used in the food-materials industry, agriculture and animal husbandry. Another well-known application is road salt.

Salt Specialties
Salt Specialties produces and sells salt products for a wide range of applications, both for industrial use and directly to end users. For example, Salt Specialties produces salt for the food industry, for agricultural applications, for water softening, as well as for consumers' tables.

Most of these products are based on the very pure undried salt supplied by Salt Bulk. This is dried in the Dry/Sieve department and then packaged in the "Packaging" department or compacted into coarser salt or even licks and tablets in the "Librox" department.
Products are stored in the warehouses and delivered by truck, container, train or ship by the "Shipping" department. The commercial heart of Salt Specialties is also located in Hengelo; in the Salt Trade Center
