Asbestos ground remediation in Gijmink neighbourhood

Due to its location right next to the former asbestos factory, the soil of the Gijmink residential area in the town of Goor has become heavily contaminated with asbestos over the years. In addition, many roofs of houses and sheds in this residential area contain asbestos-containing materials.
The province of Overijssel and the Hof van Twente municipality are working together to tackle the asbestos in this neighbourhood. An integrated approach has been chosen here.
On 4 June last, the network cafe of the Gelderland region discussed this asbestos remediation. This visit follows on from that meeting. You can see live how things are being tackled.
