SEMINAR: Is nitrogen harmful to nature and to us
Wednesday, 7 September, 18:00 - 20:00
If too much reactive nitrogen enters nature, the soil becomes acidic. Certain plants cannot stand this and they die. Also, rarer plant species, such as heather, suffer. This results in a monoculture of plants. Too much of the same. Some nature reserves can change completely as a result. Because with the rare plants, animals that live off them, such as bees and insects, which in turn are important for pollination of our crops and food production, also disappear.
The programme is as follows:
18.00 h Reception with coffee/tea and sandwiches
18.30 hours Presentation on the influence of nitrogen on nature
19.30 hours Discussion on the basis of propositions
20.00 pm Closure
Speaker: Niels Bronsgeest, Project and process manager green space | Natura 2000 | Nitrogen at Tauw
