Geothermal energy comes from the Greek words geo (earth) and thermos (heat). In other words, extracting energy by using the temperature difference between the earth's surface and heat reservoirs located deep within the earth. Depth, thickness and permeability of soil layers: there are so many parameters that influence the success rate of a geothermal project! Guido Bakema explains how to pre-map these risks.
