How precise is position really? On the limits of the GPS location system
Region Gelderland's networking cafe this time is about: How accurate is GPS really - and what do you need if meters are simply not good enough?
During this network café, ir. Jean-Paul Henry will take you into the world behind GNSS: the invisible foundation of modern infrastructure, precision agriculture, autonomous transport and drones. From classical GPS to the latest multi-constellation solutions, you will get insight into why standard GNSS falls short and how techniques like DGNSS, RTK and Network RTK enable centimetre accuracy.
Using practical examples, he shows how a dense network of reference stations corrects atmospheric and satellite-related errors. Current developments such as Galileo and Beidou, and advanced techniques such as PPP and PPP-RTK, are also covered. Finally, current threats such as jamming and spoofing will be discussed - and what you can do about these as an engineer.
