Tesla Duiven
On Wednesday 17 May, KIVI members were guests of TESLA in Duiven. The meeting was organised by an avid TESLA driver and board member of KIVI Region Gelderland: Fokko Bakker. The evening consisted of a presentation about TESLA and test driving a Model S and Model X. During too presentation, TESLA's long-term vision was discussed. It started with adapted Lotus Elan, for non connoisseurs a small sports car, a very large and luxurious car, the Model S. Since last year, the Model X was added and now you can already sign up for the latest and smallest model, Model 3.
TESLA also has a vision in the field of energy, storage and solar panels.
While testing the car, you find out what kind of torque an electric motor has. You have to be careful not to get a fine. The fastest type of Model S (P100D L) has two motors with a total output of 700 hp. Within 2.4 seconds you are at 100 km/h. The top speed is way above the speed you are allowed in the Netherlands. We were also allowed to test drive the Model X. This type can tow a horse trailer and has special suspension doors at the back.
I must say it was a very informative and "cool" evening.
