The Hybrid Tuk-Tuk race in Chennai.
Description
Students from HAN's Automotive Engineering course won 1st prize in the Hybrid Auto Rickshaw in the Indian city of Chennai. The aim of the competition was to develop a cleaner and more energy-efficient tuktuk. Five other technical universities and colleges from the Netherlands and India participated in the competition.
The HAN team developed a self-assembly kit to convert the tuktuk engine so that it can run on LPG. An Indian rickshaw, of which five million drive around, is as polluting as fifty modern petrol cars combined.
