The ascent of Mount Everest
Description
Rene de Bos will give a presentation on his ascent to the summit of Mount Everest.
On 7 October 1990, he was the first Dutchman to reach the summit.
During his retreat, he encountered Korean Ham Sang-Hun who asked him for oxygen, as he absolutely wanted to reach the summit.
De Bos gave him oxygen, but the Korean never returned from Everest.
On the Khumbu Glacier, De Bos still lost the route, so the lack of oxygen almost became fatal for him.
Rene de Bos started the company Snow Leopard after his adventures on Mount Everest and now organises treks and trips to mountain areas, especially in Asia.
